Microneedling is one of the more dependable ways to freshen up skin without going under the knife. The idea is simple. Tiny needles create hundreds of tiny channels on the surface; your body reads them as small injuries and responds by laying down fresh collagen. New collagen is the whole point. There’s not much downtime. Straight after, you’ll look a little flushed — think mild sunburn — maybe with a touch of swelling. It settles quickly, usually within a day or two, and most people head back to whatever they were doing that same afternoon.
The results, though, take their time. Collagen doesn’t rebuild overnight. You’ll catch the first signs, skin looking smoother and a bit tighter, within a week or two, and it keeps getting better over the weeks after as more collagen forms. This isn’t really a one-and-done treatment. Most people do a short run, usually three or four sessions about a month apart, then drop in for the odd maintenance session to hold things where they landed. We’ll work out the right number for your skin when you come in, so you’re not left guessing.

Less than you’d think. We numb the skin with a cream first, so what you feel is more pressure and warmth than pain. Afterward, any tenderness is mild and fades quickly.
Usually a few, not one. Three to four, roughly a month apart, is the typical run, but it depends on your skin and what you’re treating. You’ll get a straight number at your consultation, not a cookie-cutter package.
